Today the Ching Fu Group had the ground breaking ceremony for
our new headquarters. This new building was designed by world-renown
architects, Richard Rogers Partnership. All divisions of the Ching
Fu Group, shipbuiding, fishing, trading and tourism, will be united
in one central location. The building is designed to be a green
building which embodies the idea of sustainability. It is scheduled
to be completed by mid 2007.

Ching Fu signed a new shipbulding contract for another 28.96m Stern
Trawler. This trawler was contracted with Iceland ship owner Ingimundur
hf and will be the yard's H063.

Ching Fu signed a new shipbuilding contract for two 28.95m Stern
Trawlers. These vessels were contracted with Iceland company Skinney
- Thinganes hf and will be the yard's H061 and H062.

Fong Kuo began the steeling cutting for her Hull No. S404. Ching
Fu began her steel cutting for her hull No. H060.

Ching Fu laid the keel for her H058 today, a tuna purse seine being
built for a Korean owner. Fong Kuo Shipbuilding also laid the keel

Ching Fu launched today an approximately 101 meter floating
dry-dock. This floating dry-dock, Hull No.059, is intended to serve
as a repair facility in the Republic of Marshall Islands pending
the outcome of RMI's EPA process.

Congratulations to Fong Kuo Shipbuilding on the signing of a
new contract with China Sea Products Development Corporation for
the newbuilding of a 530 GRT Freezing Tuna Longliner. This will
be the yard's Hull No. 405 and is set to be delivered around the
end of the year.

The Christening Ceremony for Ching Fu's Hull No.050, a 2100 CBM Purse
Seiner was conducted today. The vessel was christened "Friesland"
by Mrs. Jan Bakker, wife of Mr. Jan Bakker, Managing Director of Jaczon
B.V. who was also in attendance. Others who were present at the ceremony
included Mr. Marnix Van Overklift the CEO of Seatrade B.V. and Mr.
Michael Cheng also of Seatrade B.V. Representatives from Jaczon B.V.
included Mr. Peter Koets, Mr. Gerry van Hees, Mr. Hans Schholten,
Mr. Jim Sousa, Mr. George Sousa, Mr. Bill Sousa (Captain of the "Friesland"),
Mr. Lee Ribeiro, Mr. Bill Slingsby, Mr. Johan Hofste(Owner's Representative),
and Mr. Singpong Lee (Netherlands Antilles Inspector). |
