"Fong Seong 888" is a double hulled, bottomed, 2300 DWT product tanker equipped with a bow thruster. Special features of this vessel are that she complies with SOPEP, has a remote control bridge, engine room with auto monitoring, employs a new design concept from Europe and is based on the ship owner's revolutionary ideas on ship operation. This ship was specially designed and adapted to maximize her functionality. Her primary purpose is oil/product transport and to provide fuel to the owner's fishing fleet. Added to the ship's original design are four reefer containers which are situated on top of the vessel. These containers carry supplies and other necessities to the fishing vessels. In addition, they can be used to carry secondary cargo away from the fleet, which frees up the hold spaces for the principal cargo. Both of these duties allow the fishing vessels to increase the amount of time between calls to port, thus saving a great deal of time and increasing the fleet's operational efficiency. Other special characteristics of "Fong Seong 888" are the special coating of her hull, her cargo pumps which pump at 135 cubic meters per hour and which are driven by two individual diesel engines, her ability to carry many different types of cargo oil and her very efficient loading and unloading capacity.
