Our Ching Fu design team uses NUPAS-CadMatic, a system that makes concurrent engineering possible. It uses 3D models to aid our designers in generating all the vital components in design, components such as drawings, ranging from the hull structural creating to the piping arrangements. Utilizing the 3D models combined with the hull construction data, Ching Fu's designers are able to integrate all the equipment and systems.

NUPAS-CadMatic gives the design team the capacity to do the following: prevent any interference or collision in systems; plan for the operation and maintenance space for equipment; and simultaneously calculate and produce virtually all management and production control data. The NUPAS-CadMatic system can directly link and feed the necessary information to all automated construction equipment such as the CNC cutting machine, pipe bending machines etc.

This 3-D engineering software was adopted by our yard since 1995. NUPAS-CadMatic is a versatile software developed by NCG of Holland. NUPAS-CadMatic works on a Win 2000 platform which is connected by an LAN to integrate engineering information in 3-D format and thus to generate NC codes for production. Ching Fu also uses NAPA, a naval architecture and engineering software, which is applied for the engineering plan of basic design at the beginning of production.

The adoption of the NUPAS CadMatic system, has greatly assisted our designers in not only reducing the delivery schedule but also in creating our international standard design team.
